We met, as many couples do these days, through a Facebook ad. No? That's not how most people meet? Well, we joke we met online, but really, it was through a (now) mutual friend who posted a "looking for players" ad on one of the Facebook groups I was apart of as I was looking for a game to join as a player. It was the height of 2020 Covid and I was isolating in my Hopkins apartment but not seeing anyone to fill up my social battery and I knew something had to change. I needed something more than just "catch up dates over Zoom". I responded to this ad and once I'd been vetted by the couple hosting and running the game, we got together to play, of course taking all our necessary precautions. John says by the end of the game that day, he sat with Jack, the host, and his now wife, Becca, and said, "I think I have a crush on the new girl." And Jack responded, "You know she has a boyfriend right?" And he dejectedly said he did. And it was true! I was in a relationship, but it had run its course. I did shortly thereafter end that relationship and a few weeks later at a game, Becca asked me how my relationship was going. I said that I had ended things two weeks prior. After everyone left that night, John proudly tells how he and Becca high fived now that I was single again! We started talking through text about the game, then having phone calls, and eventually went on our first date to Unmapped Brewing in Minnetonka to write. It was a short date, but we both knew we wanted more of them to happen. We kept meeting for dates, but then winter hit, and Covid hit harder. We had to do a "long-distance" relationship for a bit, but even when we temporarily called things off, I never stopped texting with him. The other blockage in our way was that I desperately wanted to attend a Master's Degree program in Europe. When I didn't get into the program, that made some decisions for me clear. I wanted to stay here in Minnesota with John. We got serious in the fall of 2022 and moved in together in the fall of 2023 to a tiny apartment. Since then, we moved to a townhome in Chaska, adopted a kitten named Hatch Pepper together, and got engaged! The rest is yet to come and I cannot wait.

A sprawling landscape with cliffs, rocks, slopes, and a Jurassic coast. According to legend, this was hte home of dragons and fairies! It is recommend to approach from the west side (Uig side) to avoid narrow roads and oncoming traffic. There is a 12.5 mile Quiraing circuit or a shorter 2.5 mile prison walk (rocky). The Needle of Quiraing is also worth seeing and there is a car park -- even going just 10 minutes down is a good view!

The Old Man of Storr on the Trotternish Ridge is probably the most famous walk, and definitely the busiest attraction, on the Isle of Skye. The Old Man (Bodach an Stòr in Gaelic), is a 55-metre-high pinnacle of basalt rock which is all that remains of a 2,800-million-year-old volcanic plug. The Old Man of Storr is situated just off the A855 Portree to Uig road, 6.8 miles north of Portree and 27 miles from Uig. A car journey will take 14 minutes from Portree and 58 minutes from Uig. Prepare for a steep hike that takes around 45 minutes without rests and muddy terrain!
Kilt Rock is a dramatic basalt sea cliff on Scotland's Isle of Skye, famous for its hexagonal columns resembling a pleated kilt and the nearby Mealt Falls, a waterfall plunging into the sea. It is a quick walk to see both the rock and the falls! Located on the Trotternish Peninsula.
Try a whisky that isn't available in the United States! There is a cafe that serves soups and sandwiches between 10-4, and it has much more of a down to earth vibe. They also have distillery tours that are 45 minutes long and cost 21 GBP per person. Other tours are also available!
A little town in the Isle of Skye with iconic colorful buildings. It's also actually the largest town and the capital of Isle of Skye! While you're here, be sure to walk the town as it is made for precisely that, book your restaurant plans in advance, and be sure to visit MacKenzie's bakery for some sandwiches! You can also book wild life spotting tours to see dolphins and sea eagles!
While you're in Portree, see these falls! No hike needed to view this majestic waterfall.
Due to the requirement of beginning our ceremony after the castle closes for visitors, our reception does not begin until 8:30 p.m. Please feel free to grab a bite to eat before the ceremony if you feel you need it. There are many local restaurants around such as Dornie Hotel, The Clachan and The Heilan Scran. We recommend getting a reservation ahead of time to be safe.
If you must bring a gift, please bring cards only. Please send any other gifts directly to our address which is 1778 Emerson Ct., Chaska, MN, 55318.

While we greatly desire to hold our ceremony outdoors, we are all too aware of the Scottish weather reputation. If it is more than a light drizzle, we will hold the ceremony inside. Otherwise, please prepare for it to be outside.
We are registered through Zola, Amazon, Etsy, and Crate and Barrel.
There is not transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony as it is a small area. Please rent a car or look into public transportation options.
