In 2022, Will was planning a trip overseas to Thailand and Kate was looking for someone with whom to practice English. Her warm smile and funny banter drew him in. His gentle ways, sincerity and empathy were unlike anyone she had ever met. Fast forward to November 2022. Will landed at the airport and that evening they took a boat ride together on the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok. Worries and doubts melted away as we listened to the rain on the roof of the boat and watched the lightning roll through the city. There were no awkward silences but just holding hands and watching the scenery. Both knew there was much to share over the upcoming days. The first time Will had to leave her it was hard saying goodbye at the airport. A million texts over that next year drew them closer. The second visit in 2023 ended with a trip to Korea where Will proposed. Saying goodbye at the airport was bittersweet... we were excited to soon start a life together but sad to say goodbye again. Now we are excited to have you come and celebrate our love with us in the Adirondacks this summer.
