Some love stories unfold quickly, and others take their time. Ours has been fifteen years in the making — a beautiful reminder that God’s timing is always perfect. We first met many years ago at church. Christopher was filling in for someone on the security team, helping with the offering, and I was working nearby. It was supposed to be an ordinary Sunday — just another day of serving — but God clearly had something more in mind. One conversation led to another, and soon we were spending time together and falling in love. Life, however, had other plans. With both of us raising young children, it wasn’t the right season, and we eventually went our separate ways — though we never fully forgot each other. Years later, my mom would occasionally cross paths with Christopher and keep up with him from time to time — something I didn’t even realize. Not long before she passed away, she mentioned that she had recently run into him. That conversation stuck with me, and for some reason, I decided to send him a message on social media. (Not sure why I chose that — I’m rarely on social media! He didn’t respond… apparently he isn’t either! 😄) Then, when my dad passed away, something in my heart told me to reach out again — this time by phone. He answered right away and came to the funeral to show his support. Just a month later, when my mom passed away, he came once more, quietly standing by my side through the hardest moments of my life. After that, we met to catch up — and the conversation flowed as easily as it had all those years ago. What began as two old friends reconnecting turned into something deeper, something beautifully familiar yet new. Two years later, here we are — engaged, grateful, and ready to begin our forever. Our story is one of grace, timing, and love that truly came full circle. Because sometimes, love doesn’t just happen once… it returns when it’s meant to last.
