Will and Noel matched on Facebook Dating after Will’s friend Brady suggested he try the app. Noel was traveling to Grand Forks, North Dakota to help her friend Paige move into her apartment. They began texting and talking, and during a call, Paige asked Will what he liked about Noel. Will said she was “really nice and really pretty.” Noel decided she wanted to meet Will when she returned to Minnesota.
Will and Noel met at the Coon Rapids Dam for their first date, hammocking and watching the sunset. After grabbing mac & cheese from Noodles & Company, they said goodbye. The next morning, Will invited Noel for a motorcycle ride, where they unexpectedly encountered his dad. That evening, they watched a movie at Will’s house, where Noel met his family.
After several dates, Will asked Noel to be his girlfriend during a drive-in movie. She happily said, “YES!”
Noel discovered a chocolate lab mix, “Prince,” at a pet rescue and convinced Will to visit him. She adopted him on 09/02/2020, renaming him Beau. Beau quickly became a cherished part of their lives, with Will eventually embracing his role as “dad.”
Over four years, Will and Noel bonded over shared interests like fishing, motorcycle rides, drive-in movies, and jet skiing.
On Labor Day weekend, Will and Noel headed to the Bellefeuille cabin in Black Duck, Minnesota. Will seemed unusually nervous during the drive, even suggesting they turn back, but Noel convinced him to keep going. That night, they enjoyed a bonfire, watched the Northern Lights, and went to bed. The next morning, Will joined the guys for a trail ride while Noel went into town with the girls. When they returned, their friends Noah and Alissa arrived, and everyone hung out before getting ready for church. After the service, Will insisted they stop at the Timberline gas station, where he bought Noel a sweatshirt she liked and some snacks to help buy some time. On their way back, Will suggested they check out the new cabin his family was building. As they approached, Will pointed out something near the sauna slab, leading Noel down a dirt path hand-in-hand. Seeing the candlelit path lined with flowers, tiki torches, champagne, and music, Noel began to cry, realizing the moment had come. Will got down on one knee and asked Noel to marry him, while Lauren, Will’s sister, had secretly set up cameras and decorations earlier in the day. Friends hiding nearby captured the proposal. After celebrating privately with champagne, the couple returned to the main cabin, where their friends and family surprised them with a champagne spray to continue the celebration. It was the perfect ending to a weekend Noel had hoped for, filled with love, excitement, and memories to last a lifetime.
