On December 16, 2023, their story began in the most unassuming way—at Schoonerville, a bar in Santa Clarita. Whitney was holding her own in a game of beer pong, playing solo against friends, when Chris spotted an opportunity he couldn’t resist. With just enough confidence (and admittedly a bit of skill), he stepped in to ask if she needed a partner. What started as a simple game quickly became something more. Chris was immediately drawn to Whitney’s smile, while Whitney couldn’t help but notice his height—and, soon after, his humor. Their connection came naturally. Chris admired her genuine kindness and patience; Whitney found him funny, warm, and undeniably handsome. What grew between them wasn’t defined by a single moment, but by a steady accumulation of shared experiences, trust, and understanding. As Chris puts it, imagining life without her feels impossible—like trying to invent a new color. Whitney felt it just as deeply, realizing she’d be a fool to let someone so kind and loving slip away. They took their time, building a strong foundation over the course of a year before officially becoming a couple. From there, they were inseparable. They lived together, navigated a move to Washington—Whitney following Chris just a month later—and embraced every new chapter side by side. Road trips, travels, new jobs, and countless memories shaped a partnership rooted in adventure and unwavering support. Their engagement was as spontaneous and beautiful as their journey. While vacationing in Hawaii, they set out on a hike that led them into a serene bamboo forest. There, surrounded by nature, Chris got down on one knee. The moment was perfect—unexpected, joyful, and full of love. Looking ahead, they dream of building a life together filled with family, a home of their own, and the laughter of children. The future they envision is simple in the best way: a shared life, growing together, with love at the center of it all.
