How We Met

6.6.20

While our story may not have the most conventional beginnings, it ultimately led us to find true happiness together. It all started with a simple swipe right, and just five days later, we went on our first date. This was during the early days of Covid, when social gatherings were nearly non-existent, but we made the best of the situation. We decided to hike Waimano falls. Which was supposed to take only two hours. Instead, we ended up spending the better part of the day getting lost in conversation and getting to know each other. As we shared stories and laughs, we realized we were enjoying each other's company more than we had anticipated.

The proposal

7.29.23

We decided to take a spontaneous trip to Maui, and shortly after landing, we were teeing off for a round of golf. Instead of booking a hotel, we opted for a camping experience—more like "glamping," since we just needed a place to crash. The following morning we took a stroll down to the beach, which was nearly empty, except for a couple who were dozing a few yards away. As we awaited the sunrise, completely unaware that we were facing the wrong direction, Tim surprised me by getting down on one knee and proposing. It was a memorable moment against the backdrop of a beautiful morning.
