Why April 20th?

Although it is weed day and happens to be Easter this year, this date was actually chosen because it is Weichen's birthday. She likes the idea of the wedding being a once-in-a-lifetime gift as well as having one less important day to remember.

Should I bring a wedding gift or birthday gift?

Answer

Nope. Your presence is the best gift. If you really insist on giving us something more, there is the registry, which, again, is optional.

When is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled at 2:30pm. The venue is open to guests at 1pm.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. The ceremony will be indoors but bring a warm jacket in case you want to play lawn games (if the MN April weather allows). Please don't wear outfits that are mostly white or mostly red (red is the traditional Chinese wedding color). If you want a reference point for the exact shades of red to avoid, just do a Google image search of "Chinese wedding red". Any colors that cannot be easily confused with those are OK, including some red-adjacent colors like pastel pink, coral pink, hot pink, purple, fuchsia, orange, etc.

What types of beverages will be provided?

All beverages provided are for all ages (i.e., no alcoholic drinks). We will have a space that we call "The Potion Lab" for you to mix your own fun mocktail.

What can we expect in terms of food?

Answer

It will be a buffet served around 3pm right after the ceremony. There also will be some appetizers after that. The event ends at 7:30pm so there is no sit-down dinner. More details to come.

What types of entertainment will be provided?

Answer

Weichen enjoys dancing at friends' weddings but not nearly as much at her own. Jon's athletic aptitude doesn't carry over into dancing. That's why instead of a DJ and dancing, we'll have other activities. We will set up the spaces to include the Map Room, the Craft Room, the Potion Lab, and the Board Game Corner. So come have fun with us!
