It all started when Alyssa saw one of my videos on TikTok and then tried to send me a message introducing herself.. I wasn’t following her back, so the message wouldn’t go through. She then found me on Instagram and sent me a voice message introducing herself and telling me how pretty she thought I was! I of course wrote back telling her how gorgeous she was as well! From there, we exchanged numbers and talked almost 24/7, whether it was texting or on FaceTime for a few weeks.. I was already in love lol the conversation from day one was so organic and natural and we always had each other laughing! One day she told me to pick a few days that I could take off work and school because she wanted me to come to Vegas to meet her (I lived in Colorado). December 9th, I boarded a plane to Las Vegas, to meet a stranger that I met on social media, but already knew was the love of my life. The second we locked eyes and ran to jump in each other’s arms at the airport, we both knew, this was it!
Well.. there’s 2 of them lol. I proposed to Alyssa first on May 15, 2023! I had told her I was taking her on a late Mother’s Day dinner date and wanted to go watch the sunset afterwards at this place that I had heard had a gorgeous view! What she didn’t know, is I had her whole family in on it. While our son, her mom and dad, her sister, and her nephew were waiting back at our house. After dinner, I took us to “the spot”. Her niece, Shaye had set up light up letters that spelled out “Marry Me” and had scattered rose petals that led up a few stairs to the most gorgeous view. While Shaye took videos and pictures, I walked my girl up the stairs, while we had our favorite singer singing “Golden Hour” on the grass in front of us, and right as turned golden hour, I dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Of course… she said YES! Funny thing is, while I was planning MY proposal to Alyssa, she had been planning a proposal to me too! I just beat her to the punch lol. Alyssa proposed to me on June 30th, 2 days after my 28th birthday! Unfortunately I had just been released from the hospital the day before, after spending a week in the ICU battling and surviving septic shock. She told me we were just going to grab dinner to celebrate my birthday a little late, and celebrate me making it out alive lol. We walked around Town Square for a while, took some pictures, shared smiles and so many laughs, when all of a sudden music started to play loud outside and people started popping out from everywhere dancing.. in sync! After 3 of our favorite songs played, “Happy Birthday” started playing and they brought me balloons! Then.. “Marry You” by Bruno Mars started playing and two people come running out with a massive sign, that said “Please make all my 11:11 wishes come true. Will you be mine forever?” I started shaking, smiling, crying, the whole bit lol BUT THEN she told me to turn around.. and to my surprise.. my parents who live in Colorado, that I hadn’t seen in 7 months since I moved to Vegas, pop out of nowhere and start walking out to me! I dropped to my knees sobbing the most happiest tears ever. It was magical. Perfection. The best day of my life!
