Question

*NEW* Anything I should know about driving up?

Answer

Yes, especially if you're renting a car in NYC. NY state has a bunch of tolls, and most of them are now entirely billed through EZPass or paybymail. Rental companies charge ridiculous fees for using EZPass and overcharge for the tolls too. You can, however, pay tolls within 48 hrs so it doesn't hit the rental company EZPass account and bypass the fees and higher tolls. MORE USEFULLY, You can also preregister your rental for specific dates of travel so it will bill you instead of the rental. Visit the site below. Stick it to the man. https://www.tollsbymailny.com/en/routers/register.html

Question

Do I need to attend everything?

Answer

Obviously not (though it would be weird if you skipped the ceremony). We've created events to fill the weekend with as many opportunities to hang with all of you. There will never be enough time, but we'd love as much of yours as your willing to give us!

Question

Will this be an indoor or outdoor wedding?

Answer

Everything will be outdoors. Don't worry, we have rain backup plans. We will have shaded areas if needed. Please remember, this is our friends' private residence. Please do not venture into the house or other areas without permission. We've set booby traps. We will be walking on uneven grass, gravel, and pavement (don't worry, there's a proper dance floor). Consider your footwear choice or bring a pair of flats to change to/from

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please wear clothes. Beyond that, we encourage everyone to dress to impress! It's a summer wedding and the grooms aren't wearing white. Go big, go bold, go fun! Don't be afraid of color! Kelvin and Wade will be wearing blue suits with some flair for those who need context. If in doubt, hold it in your hands and ask, "does this outfit spark joy?"

Question

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Answer

Dancing shoes! BUT there is a fair amount of walking around the venue and a lot of grass, particularly for the ceremony and cocktail hours. We'd recommend leaving the stilettos at home or have flats or other shoes as a backup. We want you to look fabulous/dashing, but also don't want you cursing Jimmy Choo while sinking into the grass.

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner where you have to remember what you selected the chicken, fish, or pasta months ago (who really remembers??), we're going to have a bunch of food stations with a variety of options. If you have any dietary restrictions or considerations (see below) let us know so we can accomodate!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes. We will not be offering any child care or kids menus, but we welcome all offspring!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know in your RSVP for the reception. We will work with our caterer to make sure there's food available for you to eat. Wade will be sad if food kills you.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 4pm. Fashionably late individuals will be flogged.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Sooooo many, but specifically for this wedding we have secured group rates at two adjacent Marriott hotels in Kingston. We encourage people to stay there since we've arranged shuttles from that location. There are no hotels close to the venue (Hotel Tivoli has been reserved for family members). If you are looking for other locations, we recommend looking into hotels in Hudson, AirBnb, or similar services.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, please see the details in the Travel section under Shuttles. The first one on the bus chooses the group sing-a-long song.

Question

We're planning to stay in someplace other than the hotel block. Is there any chance for transportation?

Answer

The area around Tivoli is full of towns and smaller towns, so it's possible to find lodging elsewhere though it'll be a 20-30 minute drive. We've added a question to the RSVP about where you're staying (you can edit your response later if you're still figuring it out). We may consider other group transportation, but the Kingston hotels are the only planned pickup location currently. Uber and Lyfts do exist in the area but are very few and far between. Hitchhiking, hot air ballooning, helicopters, parachuting, and hang gliding to the venue is discouraged. Quantum teleportation is encouraged.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is limited parking available at the venue, yes. We encourage people to take the shuttles. Please make sure to have a designated driver; Kelvin's cocktails are very delicious!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Primarily with the DMV and TSA. We love to travel and would much rather put the above registries to work. We would openly welcome contributions towards our travel fund. We do have a few items registered at Crate & Barrel and Amazon. All that information is posted on the registry tab.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

May 1st, 2024 11:59:59pm ET. We'll deduct one letter grade for every week you're late.
