Maid of Honor
Riley has been married to Josie's brother Grady for almost four years, and the soon-to-be-bride has been blessed beyond measure by their time as sisters and friends. Josie is challenged and loved by Riley in an invaluable way, held accountable by Riley's honesty, inspired to a purer and lovelier life by Riley's love for Christ. Riley's prayers to her Father in heaven have shaped Josie's heart and life, bringing more change and help than could ever be calculated on this side of heaven. Josie is prepared to be entirely open to Wade because God gave her Riley to trust first.
Bridesmaid
In 2021, Nathaniel Ortiz told Josie she would want to be friends with this new girl coming to Church at the Cross, so Josie made the obligatory plan to hang out with Aine and has been obsessed ever since! Josie took on almost all of Aine's signature gestures immediately, and has taken to her beautiful display of the fruits of God's Spirit at a much slower rate, but Josie sure is glad for the influence that leads her to live a more Christ-like life.
Bridesmaid
As a woman already blessed by sister-in-law relationships, Josie can't imagine a better new sister!! Both Shae and Josie laugh an actual unbelievable amount, truly, when you see it you'll rub your eyes and wonder how anyone could find everything so funny! Shae is the little sister to Wade and one of the most servant-hearted people. Though they grew up close, they grew a much closer relationship as they both lived in one of the greatest cities in the world (College Station) at the same time while they went to college. Wade has gotten to see his baby sister grow so much in her walk with Jesus over the past couple of years as she continually seeks to give her time to the purposes of the Lord. Although they have always had a competitive relationship with one another, Shae has always been one of the most gentle and kind people Wade has ever known.
Bridesmaid
A friend once told Josie she looked like Marisa, so Josie stalked her on the internet, became obsessed, and slid into her dm’s to tell her they would be best friends and that Marisa would certainly be in her wedding. Well, here we are!!! Josie is able to talk to Marisa about absolutely everything, almost always discovering Marisa has thought a step ahead on all things Christan-lifestyle! A fount of wisdom and encouragement, she is the best reason for Instagram to exist.
Bridesmaid
Josie has known Rebecca the longest of any of her bridesmaids, with the two of them going back to 2005 when Hurricane Katrina brought the Ortiz family to Grapevine, and even more specifically, to Church at the Cross. Growing up in the kids and students ministries together, Rebecca and Josie spent years being sincere and vulnerable friends, growing in knowledge, then neglecting their faith, and finally falling in love with Jesus in a fresh way on very similar timelines!! When Rebecca’s parents moved to Tennessee, Josie rode along with Rebecca, the two of them talking every minute of the nine hour drive, and their childhood friendship was rekindled in a fresh way! It was just the right timing to have each other as bridesmaids and cherished friends in each of their weddings :)
Bridesmaid
When Church at the Cross began a ministry to connect young adults, Liz was one of the first people to join the church and bless Josie with new friendship at a similar life stage! The qualities that jumped out at first, Liz's kindness and bright joy, are still totally present, but what Josie has valued even higher in the years since are the steadfastness, sincerity, and vulnerability Liz has displayed.
Bridesmaid
As the newest friend Josie will have standing beside her, Emma became a most cherished confidant right before (and then during) the time Josie fell in love with Wade! From a nagging desire to make it to church on Sundays, to joining the staff of Church at the Cross, to considering missions abroad, Josie has seen Emma take the Lord's call on her life seriously, then order her whole life around the truth of the gospel. They crack up a lot.
Best Man
Will is the older brother to Wade and has probably influenced him the most concerning Wade’s favorite hobbies and activities. From playing with legos and sports in the house as kids to working out with each other and talking about sports now, Wade and Will bond over many things together. But Will has also been a person that Wade trusts deeply and can speak to about anything. For Will was the first person that Wade actually told that he was going to marry Josie. Although they had fights here and there as they grew up, they’re still best friends and close brothers till this day.
Groomsman
Wade came to know Jesus in the Spring of 2020 and two months later met Nathaniel through lifeguarding together. They quickly bonded over many things such as playing volleyball, being Aggies, and most of all, being some of the only Christians at their work. As they both went back to A&M, Nathaniel began teaching Wade many beautiful things about the Lord and who He is. Wade’s greatest influence in his walk with Christ has been his brother Nathaniel. And he is a huge reason for why this wedding is happening. For Nathaniel is the one who introduced Wade and Josie to each other and has been advising Wade to think about marrying Josie for the past year and a half. Josie would like to add in a thank you to God for Nathaniel for being SUCH a bro and encouraging Wade to go for it… She remembers praying for Nathaniel to have wisdom as Wade’s close friend, and how glad she is that wisdom looked like telling Wade to put a ring on it!!

In the summer of 2019, Wade met Grady through lifeguarding together. Upon getting to know each other, Grady quickly shared how he was proposing to his at the time girlfriend Riley when he was only 19 years old. Wade thought it was the most bizarre thing he had heard as Grady was just a young man in college who seemed to be committing to one girl so soon and so fast. But as Wade came to know Christ and learn more of the meaning of marriage through the lens of the gospel of Jesus, he greatly admired what Grady had done. And ever since Wade has gotten closer to the Moyer family, Grady has become a wise counselor and a dear brother of his. As the oldest of Josie's younger brothers, Grady has tried the hardest to usurp her role as eldest Moyer sibling. While he could never succeed on that front, he has led in spiritual maturity and faithfulness to Jesus, living as a light to his sister in the years since she moved back from New York. God has overcome such deep animosity these siblings had for one another in their youth, and He deserves all the glory for the beautiful and hilarious friendship they share now!
Groomsman
Max is a guy that just gets Wade and his love for superheroes, weightlifting, and football. Really, it seems like these guys have so much in common! They originally met through lifeguarding together in the summer of 2021. But they have grown closer recently as they are now soon to be brothers-in-law. Josie has never in her life been as disciplined as this very-loved brother, but they do give each other a lot of competition for which sibling stays up latest... Max is secretly a softy and has made Josie's entire life when approaching her to ask for fashion and girl advice. She has his back, he keeps her on her toes, and they share surprisingly squeeze-y hugs!

If there are teams to a game, Wade is instantly seeking to be on Reagan’s team. Reagan is one of the smartest and most strategic people that Wade has ever met and loves his competitiveness. Wade met Reagan through life guarding together in the summer of 2021, but grew a lot closer to him as Wade started to come around the Moyer house more often. Reagan and Josie have had many more years of living under the same roof as siblings than today's typical life path for young people would predict. Josie graduated form high school seven years before her baby bro, so the last four bonus-years of growing together kept the age difference from putting distance between them! It is one of Josie's favorite unexpected blessings of living at home, and not only are there no regrets, there is so much extra thankfulness to God!
Groomsman
James met Wade through a Bible study in college and through their mutual friend Nathaniel Ortiz. James has been a great encouragement to Wade as he has displayed over the years a godly heart of wanting to confess and put to death sin in his life, and a heart that believes in the power of prayer. Both James and Wade started up an outreach ministry in college called table talk with the help of their friend Drew Littleton where they would invite people to a local pizza shop, pay for their food, and talk about who Jesus is. Through doing ministry together, James became a deeply loved and close brother to Wade.
Groomsman
In the spring of 2022, Drew signed up to be a youth leader with Wade. And through doing ministry with each other, Drew and Wade quickly became close friends and did almost everything together through Wade’s last year in college as they had all things in common in Christ. Drew’s desire to know the Lord’s will and to obey it is vividly prominent within his life and his zeal for doing missions has greatly encouraged Wade on the matter. There is hardly a time where Wade’s heart is not full of joy when spending time with Drew.
Al fresco dining is the fancy way of giving you a heads up that our reception is outdoors! Weather permitting, we will dine together under the stars :) IMPORTANT NOTE FOR LADIES - Reception tables will be set up on grass, so please take that into consideration when selecting your shoes. For what it's worth, I won't be deterred from wearing heels, but I will likely pass on stilettos!
The preferred attire is long dresses for women and jackets and ties for men. There will have a portrait photographer with a lovely set at the reception, so you can anticipate taking a very nice picture of you and yours dressed to the nines! Ladies, a more formal dress in any length is preferable to a sundress. The notes on attire are to help you narrow down choices and bring cohesion to the event, not to keep you from coming! Please don't let attire keep you from attendance.
All shades and tints of blue, green, brown, and black are most welcomed! Purple and pastels are all ok! If you are able to avoid bright, warm colors, such as hot pink, red, orange, and yellow, I would be over the moon! The notes on attire are to help you narrow down choices and bring cohesion to the event, not to keep you from coming! Please don't let attire keep you from attendance.
While Wade and I will be attempting to pull off some slick moves, there will not be an open dance floor or DJ this evening.
Let the record reflect that Wade and I are not opposed to alcohol or dancing, but as the reception is at our church, we are not able to serve drinks. We're glad to have a joyful and sober time with you all!
