Formal attire. NO WHITE, please.
May on the shores of Lake Michigan can get windy so dress accordingly. This is a White-Out event, meaning please do not wear cream or white, including dress shirts or prints. Bright colors are encouraged. Hats are strongly encouraged, though if the wind is heavy, they may need to be in your lap until we go inside for the reception. (This is a swimming beach, so feel free to pack a suit for later. No life guard on duty. Swim at your own risk.) The ceremony will be officiated by Chaplain-in-training, Sigourney Klucsarits, daughter of the bride. Following the ceremony, we will go indoors to the art gallery where refreshments and seating will accommodate the rest of the festivities. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the gallery at 314 Steele St.

Bride
A true Wonder Woman & Pheonix, a super heroine who had faced numerous challenges & came away with a great, loving heart. She is compassionate & creative. Her interests in the arts include writing, painting & sculpting. Her interests outside of the arts includes nature, good food & great laughs with great friends & family.
Groom
Described by Verity's daughter as being the perfect blend of Kermit and Santa Claus, George is generous, kind, jolly, silly, sweet, gentle and loyal. He's a best friend to all and has a compassionate heart big enough to touch the hearts everyone he meets. In a crowd, his laugh is big enough to be heard above the din, spreading joy. To know George is to love him.
Best Man
George met him in college at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, when D was the new housing director at the college dormitory. They became fast friends, connecting on football, literature & music--including all things Pearl Jam. D had offered his help shortly after the Bride's house burned down in a late night/ early morning chimney fire & a number of times during their eventual move to Algoma, Wisconsin; demonstrating his huge heart & his compassion. His faith and his generous heart lead him through life, and his adventurous spirit inspires.
Maid of Honor
Big sister of the bride, Saroya is as unique as her name. Her middle name, Lenore, was chosen from her and Verity's favorite poem, The Raven, by Edgar Allen Poe. Though she's named after the lost Lenore, she loves the quote, "Not all who wander are lost."
Groomsman
George's childhood best friend since Kindergarten. Justin is a hunter, fisher, and avid sports fan. He always greets you with a kind smile, loves his family, and spends his free time with friends and enjoying the beauty of nature. He is a solid dependable man for people he loves.
Bridesmaid
Amy was the unspoken leader of the pack of cousins. It was Amy, Saroya, Verity, Kristina, Joanna, and Jason, all cousins close in age. Amy says what she thinks and means what she says. She's honest, open, and caring in a no-nonsense sort of way, and always looking for the next adventure. Her boys count themselves lucky to have a mom with both feet firmly planted in the dirt with her eyes on the stars.
Groomsman
He's a scamp... what else is there to say? We love him to bits. A true jack of all trades. A master at the grill, a hunter & avid fisherman. What he enjoys most is a laugh with a few friends & family. It is frequently said by the Groom that "Uncle Brad" is one of his most favorite people in this world.
Bridesmaid
Cousin of Verity and accomplished historian of the family, Kris has poured countless hours into researching the roots that Verity came from. She's sweet, kind, and a great big sister.
Groomsman
Considered more a cousin than a friend to the Groom. He is a huge football & music fan, & a musician in his own right. In recent years, he found joy in traveling (and even met his lovely bride while traveling) & enjoying the company of good friends & loved ones.
Bridesmaid
Kim and Verity served in the military together as battle buddies. They had--and still have--each others backs in every way. She travelled all the way from Saint Louis to be here today, but it just wouldn't have been the same without her here. When she joined the Army, she was a proud mother, struggling with being away from her family. She's loyal, loving, sassy, and a blessing to know.
Groomswoman
Earthy, bubbly, loyal and fun. Jenna is light-hearted and the best bestie to have in your corner. She's also our dog's favorite person, behind the groom, so she must be awesome.
Bridesmaid
Cousin to Verity and little sister to Kristina, Jo has always been tough and marched to the beat of her own drum. She's brave, bold, and creative, living her life unapologetically.
Officiant
Bridesmaid and daughter of the bride, Sigourney is studying for her chaplaincy in the Lutheran faith and will be officiating the wedding. Verity and Sigourney are two halves of the same brain, though they often wonder if the math adds up to one. The name Sigourney means victorious grace, and her heart is overflowing with grace for those in need.
Father of the Bride
Papa to Verity, Poppy to his grandkids, Lyle and his brother volunteered for the Viet Nam war, serving with honor. He is a purple heart veteran, hauled steel for many years, and is as crusty as he is knowledgable on all things historical.
Mother of the Bride
Called Mamsi by her grandkids, Joni has always been more of a best friend to Verity. They are partners in crime, love antiquing, and live for a good bargain hunt. Quirky and creative, she shares a love of cats and hats with her daughter Verity.
Mother of the Groom
Her presence will truly be missed at this blessed event. In her youth, Linda was sassy and brassy, loved to laugh and always had an open hand to help others. Before she passed on, Linda met Verity and was so very happy to know that her son would have many years of love ahead of him in his life. Rest in peace, Linda. You remain in our hearts.
Not white, lol. Dress nice enough to feel good but not so fancy that you are suffering.
Nope... just a honeymoon fund. Other than that, we just want to share our joy with you.
We will be going on a road trip, but we haven't decided where just yet. Favorites are San Antonio, Yosemite, and Edisto Island SC.
We listed three local hotels. All are rather small, so there's not enough space for everyone in one place. The only local hotel I would steer you away from is the Scenic View Inn, which ironically, has no view of the beach and is overpriced. There are also many Air BNBs in the local area, or you can stay in Kewaunee 15 minutes south, or in Sturgeon Bay 20 minutes north. We are about 30 minutes due east of the east side of Green Bay, but it can take a full 30 minutes to naviagate through downtown Green Bay, so if you book there, be aware of commute times.
If you'd like to enjoy the beach, chairs are recommended. It's a small town with lots of quaint shops, so bring walking shoes. If you will be hiking, keep walking over tree roots in mind and maybe bring a walking stick and water bottle.
We are looking into having a food truck at the event, but have not pinned that down just yet. We will make sure there are options.
On December 8th, 2024, at 1 am, Verity awoke to thick smoke. At first she thought the flu on the wood burning furnace had slipped closed. Bleary-eyed, George went downstairs to fix it, but came face to face with a glowing orange wall. The chimney inside the wall was burning. It was -18 degrees outside. While they huddled in bathrobes in the car with Verity's mom and their pets, he muttered... Verity, I bought a ring. I was going to propose. She smiled ear to ear. After a long pause, George continued... it's in the house. Moments later, the roof collapsed while flames engulfed what was left. A few weeks later, Verity had been notified that the remains of her home would be scraped clear into dumpsters in the morning. She couldn't bear the thought of it all being gone without even looking to see if anything could be salvaged. When she arrived, the devastation was worse than she could imagine. Two walls stood, roofless, like charred bookends keeping the ashes mounded in its frozen heap. Four foot deep ash, twisted metal, and burned through beams stared back at her. Verity had decided the most likely place he would've hidden it would be in his sock drawer. Though the dresser was long gone, it didn't take long for her to spot the remnants of a melted packer jersey and the metal handle of his dresser. Her pick ax swung with caution into the frozen char until she came to a mass of melted black socks. Pulling them apart one by one, she dug more urgently. Frozen in the center was a crushed, melted metal box. It was covered in soot and so melted that she had to crack it open like a walnut, sure that whatever was inside would be ruins. There, in perfect untouched condition was a beautiful ring. Just like Verity, her phoenix ring had risen from the ashes. That night, George got down on one knee and proposed in the driveway of the Packer house in Townsend, while the wind chimes from Linda's service sang in the winter breeze.
