Our Story

Troy and Bri met—kind of—because of Jiu Jitsu. Troy was in Las Vegas for ADCC, Bri was living there, and thanks to one perfectly timed conversation, their paths finally crossed. A very fun cat shirt, boba, and a joke about airplanes made sure those paths stayed crossed. The truth is, they’d already been orbiting each other for years—at the same tournaments and shows, knowing some of the same people—maybe even passing by without realizing it. It really was only a matter of time. One week after Troy flew back to Colorado, he asked Bri if she wanted to “do this for real.” Three months later, she told him she was in love. From there, everything just clicked—training together, visiting often, and building a life side by side. On Christmas Day, a little over two years later, Bri’s kids asked Troy to be their stepdad—something he never expected, but embraced wholeheartedly. Six weeks after that, surrounded by friends and family at a birthday open mat, Troy got down on one knee and proposed. And on February 6, 2026—three years, four months, and three weeks after the day they met—Troy and Bri will finally say “I do.”
