Wedding Party

Annie Papineau Nelson

Officiant

Annie and Melanie met in 2007 and instantly recognized each other as kindred spirits. Bonding over Harry Potter, dry humor, and an unspoken understanding of the world, their friendship has always felt like a quiet kind of magic. Having Annie as the officiant isn't just fitting-it's a full circle moment of heart, trust, and soul-deep connection.

Maggie Anderson

Matron of Honor

Maggie has known Melanie since 1999, which means they've been causing absolute baffoonery together for over two decades. Their bond was forged through childhood playground games, wildly imaginative adventures, and a mutual ability to turn literally anything into a storyline. Not much has changed-they can still be found getting lost in plants, laughter, and unending tangents that somehow always circle back to the same five inside jokes. She's not just a sister-she's the original co-star in Melanie's lifelong sitcom.

Katie Buzard

Matron of Honor

Katie is a sister-friend in every sense of the word. She and Melanie met in 2007 during sorority rush, bonding instantly over their shared habit of overdramatizing rush dances and songs like "Any Gam of Mine"-and it's been love ever since. Their friendship has survived many years of shenanigans, highly coordinated mischief, and heart-to-hearts, often over queso or questionable decisions. Sisterhood, sparkle, and a hint of chaos- and that's their brand. *This photo is of the bride and matrons of honor circa 2009.

Taylor Towles

Best Man

Taylor isn’t just a lifelong friend—he’s family. As Trent’s best friend growing up, he naturally became like an older brother to Tyler too—someone who showed up with advice, mischief, and a steady presence through every season. Their bond was built in Blue Mills and shaped by years of backyard adventures, inside jokes, and the kind of friendship that just sticks. Brotherhood, loyalty, and a shared history that runs deep.

Barney Stanley

Best Man

Tyler met Barney on day one of high school golf—walking up to hole #1 at Winterstone. That was it. Instant connection. From Fort Osage golf to brief roommates in Joplin, Tuesday league rounds to family holidays, Barney and Tyler have been best friends and life-long brothers ever since. A bond forged in fairways, fortified in friendship, and as steady as a seven-iron on a good day.
