We first met at a youth church retreat when we were just 15 years old. Tristan, from Illinois, and Yzabel, from Missouri; we attended a winter retreat at Camp Fairwood called Snow Trip. Each day, we deepened our knowledge of the Bible and spent time with the Lord along with other young Christians. For Tristan, it was love at first sight. By the end of the two-day retreat, he was dared to share his feelings with Yzabel at the tubing hill. Although she saw him only as a friend and was not looking for a relationship, Yzabel felt that Tristan was not just any other guy. Even after Tristan shared his feelings on the frozen lake, Yzabel still sat by the fireplace to talk to Tristan. Over the next few years, Tristan and Yzabel would see each other again at Snow Trip and were always happy to see each other. We stayed in touch and eventually would help each other with homework, read the Bible together, and engage in deep conversations about life and our faith. Before long, Yzabel's feelings for Tristan grew, and she confessed her love to him. Together, we navigated the various challenges that followed in our long-distance relationship as we pursued our college educations and life goals. Finally, years later on the last day of college, Tristan proposed to Yzabel, marking a new chapter in our journey together.

On our wedding day, we envision creating a small intimate celebration, resembling a cozy family gathering. It will be a day filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments as two families, two cultures, and two lives are joined.
