Less than a 45 minute drive away, is the largest Hindu temple in the United States—BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Robbinsville, New Jersey (also known as Akshardham). Completed in 2014, this massive temple complex spans over 160 acres and features intricate hand-carved Italian marble and Indian pink stone. The craftsmanship is remarkable, with thousands of individual stone pieces carved in India and assembled in the U.S. without the use of steel reinforcements, following traditional Hindu temple architecture principles.
Just a quick trip down the road is this beautiful garden, which will be in full bloom in June. Admission and parking are free.
The Northeast is dotted with Ivy League towns and the venue happens to be just 30 mins away from one of the best—Princeton University. Princeton's historic downtown is a gorgeous little area for open-air shopping, eclectic eateries, and museums. Very walkable town. You can also visit Palmer Square or Morven Museum and Garden.
The ferry offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, lower Manhattan, Ellis Island, and the New Jersey coastline. It is free of charge and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with ferries running every half hour on the half hour, every 20 minutes during rush hour, and every 60 minutes during late-night hours. The harbour is about an hour drive from the venue, but worth it!
Less than an hour away is the alluring New York City. From the iconic bustling city life that Times Square is known for, to the diverse arts culture on Broadway, there is no shortage of things to do. We also recommend some mindless wandering, shopping and eating your heart out in neighborhoods like Greenwich Village, Fifth Avenue, SoHo, Upper East Side, and the Flatiron district. Additionally, the observation decks at either the Empire State Building or One World Trade Center provide breathtaking panoramic views of the city's world-class skyline. Go at sunset, you won’t be disappointed.
Philadelphia is less than an hour from the venue and offers a rich blend of history, culture, and culinary experiences that make it a fantastic destination. Here are the best things to do in the City of Brotherly Love: * Explore the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the birthplace of American democracy where both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were debated and signed. * Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art, famous for its impressive collections and the "Rocky Steps" that film fans love to climb before striking the triumphant pose from the film. * Compare cheesesteaks at Pat's and Geno's—which is better? Help settle the decades long battle. * Check out Reading Terminal Market, one of America's oldest and largest public markets. * Wander through charming neighborhoods like Old City, Society Hill, and Rittenhouse Square…shop, eat, play.
The bride and groom processions will kick off the start of the wedding. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to this so you don't miss all theatrics! We realize this is early in the morning so don't worry there will breakfast, coffee and hot chai all morning starting at 7:30am!
We recommend arriving no later than 5:30 pm. This will allow time for seating before the start of the evening ceremony and events following.
Yes, parking is free and there will be plenty of spots on the venue premises. For the evening events, we have also arranged courtesy valet parking for all of our guests.
We recommend you travel in at least by the evening/night before the 5th if you plan on attending the daytime events so you are well rested for the next day! Please see the hotel booking link in the travel section. There are multiple other hotels within minutes of the venue if you prefer those.
