Lancaster Drop-In Updates

Trey and Rachel met in the backyard of our mutual friend's at their Labor Day party. Although Trey and Rachel remember meeting each other it would go almost two years before we actually had a full conversation. One of our initial conversations was Rachel talking about how much she enjoyed her recent trip to Asheville, North Carolina and then spending her time trying to convince Trey to spend his planned one-week camping vacation visiting Asheville. (Shout out to Katelyn for sending me a list of hikes and restaurants to pass along to Trey and make me look good). Trey and Rachel formed a friendship over their love for Asheville, travel, great food and drinks. By January 2019, a certified letter arrived at Rachel's door asking Rachel on their first date to Spoon in East Liberty, Pittsburgh.

Rachel here! The man did great! On Wednesday, July 3, 2019, I came back to my apartment to lilies (my favorite flower) and a letter (just like the one that asked me on our first date and like the one that managed to make it to Lisbon, Portugal ahead of the cruise ship I was on to tell me he loved me). The letter said that Trey made reservations for Friday, July 5, 2019. I immediately went to buy a new dress and waited for two long days for that date night. Friday night rolled around and we found ourselves at Spoon (just like our first date) having an incredible dinner with a great bottle of wine. We then proceeded to go for a drive and although I was pretty sure Trey was lost we ended up in the backyard that we met in almost four years prior. I walked through the gate to see a large tent with a bench and rug set up. The tent was decorated with the most beautiful white lilies, greenery, and lights everywhere. It was that night that I said the best "yes" ever. Shout out Jeremy and Lindsey Rife for introducing us, letting us get engaged in your backyard and celebrating with us!
