Have you ever tried so hard to achieve something on your own, only to face repeated failures? Then, when you finally surrender everything to God's hands, things start working effortlessly? That's our story. As a passionate soccer player, I often spend time on the field. One day, while having a conversation with a friend who also loves soccer, we talked about my unstable relationships. Being a man of God, he knew several serious women ready for a committed relationship. When he mentioned Ruth, I felt an immediate interest and asked if he could connect us. He told me she was looking for a serious, God-fearing man and promised to introduce us. Days passed without any news, so I reminded him. He said he had spoken to Ruth, who was considering it. I started praying about it, and nearly a month later, she agreed to a date, and I was so thrilled. Stay tuned I will reveal a sub story shortly! We planned to meet at the Steak House Downtown Atlanta on July 10, 2022—a day I now call magical. That day, I met my angel, my friend, my sister, my partner, my soul mate, my love. The connection was natural and strong; we ended up spending every day of that week together, something neither of us had ever done before. A few weeks later, she accepted my proposal to be in a relationship, marking the happiest day of my life. You remember I mentioned a sub-story, right? Here it is. While I was anxiously waiting for her response, she was actually praying and fasting, seeking God’s guidance about me. During her prayers, she kept mentioning my name and felt a confirmation that I was the right one. A week after we met, she even dreamed of us getting married but kept it to herself to avoid pressuring me. She revealed all this months later, after our relationship became serious. The year 2023 was a blessed one. In May, I met her family to ask for their daughter's hand. A month later, I threw her a graduation party as she completed Nursing school, and took the opportunity to surprise her with a proposal ring and she said "yes!". It was an emotional moment, and we both had tears in our eyes. On September 22nd of that year, I decided to give the dowry to her family, both my and her family met and celebrated our traditional wedding in the Democratic Republic of Congo while they had us join them via Zoom. We then planned for a formal wedding to be held on August 24th, 2024, seeking God's blessings and legal recognition of our union. We share many values, beliefs, and visions for the future, and we are thrilled to declare "I do" in front of our friends, family, and loved ones.
