We met eight years ago at Dead Celebs, the vintage store we owned in Victorville. Justin, Travis's older brother, was one of our best customers. At that time, we were expanding to open a men's store and had set up a promotional photoshoot. I needed male models, so I asked Justin for help. He was extremely supportive and mentioned that his brother had just moved home from college and was "SO PHOTOGENIC." We arranged the photoshoot, and that night, Travis and I met for the first time. While the story can be told in various ways, since I'm (Grace) writing this, I will share my version. Travis struck me as a quiet, mysterious, and slightly awkward (in a good way) guy. Being a bit of a try-hard, I did my best to make him comfortable during the photoshoot. We talked here and there, and he participated in all my art shows, even helping me with the flyers. Although we fell out of touch, a journey of twists and turns ultimately led me back to him. Years later, while third-wheeling at a dive bar with my friend Jessica, I unexpectedly ran into Travis. The band was loud, and the place was crowded, so I stepped outside for some air, and we locked eyes. It was such a relief to see a familiar, friendly face. Although he was with a group of friends, he made me feel welcome. We exchanged numbers and met up a couple of days later. Since then, we've been inseparable.
