Norway has always held a special kind of magic for us. Maddi has a soft spot for Frozen — especially Frozen 2 — and was drawn to the landscapes that inspired the films. The Lofoten Islands, with their dramatic peaks and colorful fishing villages, quickly became a bucket list destination. One night over tapas in 2024, she mentioned the idea, and Travis exclaimed that he already had a Lofoten golf course on his own bucket list. Within minutes, what started as a casual conversation turned into a spontaneous decision, and they booked a trip to Norway leaving just 30 days later. While exploring the islands, they drove past Lofotkatedralen in Kabelvåg and half-jokingly exclaimed, “Let’s get married there!” A few years later, that moment has become reality. So if you’re questioning why travel all the way to the Arctic Circle for a wedding — you can blame Frozen and tapas. The islands themselves are breathtaking — from jagged mountain peaks to calm fjords, midnight sun, and villages that feel like they’re pulled from a postcard. We fell in love with Lofoten on that first trip, and now we can’t wait to introduce its beauty to our closest friends and family.
