The proposal story
Travis planned a very special day for us in Santa Barbara. He included my best friends in the world of 23 years and I was oblivious to the plans. We started the afternoon at a lunch spot in Santa Barbara then drove up a mountain for a quick nature walk. This is a very normal thing for us so it was not surprising to me. Anna and Carissa were with me as Travis snuck away from us on the trail and prepared to propose (I was completely oblivious!). Anna and Carissa hugged me, laughed & cried with me, affirmed our relationship, prayed over me, and then told me to go find Travis because THIS. IS. HAPPENING. So naturally, I ran (and struggled because it was very steep). I fell to my knees in anticipation when I first saw him and my best friends chased after me to capture it all. It was chaotic and perfect. And I was met at the peak of the mountain with my now fiancé wearing the biggest smile in the world (plus a purple vest, naturally). I couldn’t help but get weak in the knees, looking at my love while he was looking at me and into our future together. So happy, so many emotions, I was so excited I kept pushing him to the cliff edge, and yelling “NO WAY!!” whoops! Quick reset, beautiful words spoken over our relationship, and boom diggity, down on one knee, my breath: gone 🥹💍 I didn’t want to forget this moment so being the sweet man he is, he did it again for me and re-said all the sweet things so I could relive it and take a million mental photos 😂 Happy is an understatement! What an adventure we have ahead of us!

Our big event! Please join us on F Street in Oxnard for a celebratory reception! We’ll enjoy a progressive reception across three backyards throughout the evening. Join us for cocktail hour at the Thierry residence at 4pm. Dinner and dancing to follow. We are so excited to spend this time together with you celebrating our wedding vows, which will be exchanged earlier in the week in a private ceremony. Parking: we HIGHLY recommend ride share and/or carpooling!!! Our event will take place in a private neighborhood with free street parking, but you may have to walk to the house depending on parking availability. We recommend you park close to the Thierry home on F or G street between Palm Drive and Third street.

For all of our art-loving friends we highly recommend this museum. About 45 minutes from our reception celebration, but worth the drive if you have a few extra hours to drive up to Santa Barbara and enjoy some time there.
Walk the Ventura Waterfront Promenade
Perfect spot for a morning or sunset walk with a nice long walking path. There is a nice playground for kids available right on the beach. One of our favorite coffee roasters in Ventura County. Close to downtown Ventura and the pier, this is a must-stop if you’re staying in Ventura.
Singing Sun Coffee
Favorite coffee shop of the mother of the groom! We love this spot because it has incredible coffee, good vibes, and is located next door to the cutest bookstore - we recommend grabbing a golden latte and walking next door to peruse Timbre Books.
Butter & Fold
One of our new favorite coffee shops & bakeries! The head baker is amazing and all ingredients are organic, grass-fed, and all pastries are made in-house. Plus, the coffee is amazing and the aesthetics are **chefs kiss.
Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters
A go-to coffee shop for us in Oxnard. I’m actually drinking a latte from them while I write this. Located in the Annex.
The Blend Superfood Bar
Located in the Annex of the Collection near Ragamuffin, this is a great stop for a smoothie or delicious açaí bowl.

A must-stop for açaí bowls if you’re in Santa Barbara! Our family friends own this shop and we love to support local businesses esp. when they’re delicious!

One of our faves! Really close to the reception area and such good beer and vibes! Sit in the brewery area and we recommend ordering the nachos!

Our favorite brewery in Ventura County. Good vibes, excellent beer, and bomb pizza. We’ll go here for our welcome event on August 9 - join us!
MadeWest Brewing Co Ventura Pier
We love this spot! It’s right on the pier - just walk upstairs. Pro-tip: if you ask for your beer in a non-glass beer cup you’ll get a cool reusable aluminum cup to keep. Get parking validated if you park in the structure nearby.
