We met on a fall evening in a mutual friend's dorm room at MCLA. As our friends left the room, Gage stared deeply in Tor's eyes, and uttered the words... "Do you want to make out?" and the rest was history
Gage had decided to take Tor on a Tour of Dates. First arriving to their house in North Adams, Gage gave Tor a small gift of word searches and candy for the car ride. The second date was at the Blue Benn Diner where they had their first date. They got their usual food and Tor played Under the Sea on the old jukebox, only the track didn't get stuck on repeat this time. Gage had gifted Tor a small sticker booklet. As the couple journeyed on, they made their way to Wilmington and reenacted the first date they had there. Visits to see the Beauty, the kestrel in the Vermont Natural History Museum's Animal Rehab, and being trapped by the tourist trap that is the Hogback General Store, and eating at their favorite restaurant, Jezebel's Eatery. Gage had given Tor some matchbox cars as their third and "final" gift. Little did Tor know, Gage had one more date spot in mind. As they made their way to North Bennington, Gage had Tor guessing as to where they were going. Tor finally figured out it was the Mile Walk Around the Woods on the grounds of the Park-McCullough Mansion in North Bennington, where they had a lovely hummus date. As they walked around the woods, Tor said "It would be so lovely if we got married here?" Just then Gage went silent. Tor quickly switched the topic because they didn't want to scare gage with talk of marriage. But little did they know, 30 yards later they'd understand how Gage really felt. As the couple sits down on the bench they once had a light snack at, Gage pulled out a box. Within this box was a souvenir from many experiences and dates they had gone on together. As Tor got to the bottom of the box, they read a poem about how marriage is like a box. How you put love in that box, and you put more in than you take out. It was then that Gage showed Tor the ring and they said... "Yes"... obviously! And now you are here, celebrating our love with us. Thank you so much for being a part of our journey
