Toni and Marquis—two portrait artists in their fabulous 40s—are still wondering how they got this lucky. They met in 2018 at work. Marquis had unforgettable friendly hugs, and his eyes, nose, and lips that, according to Toni, deserved their own fan club. They laughed, vibed, and went out a few times—but life had other plans. Toni left the job and flew back to the Philippines, and though she eventually returned to the U.S., their paths never crossed again. They both carried on—hoping, maybe, someday… Fast forward six years: Marquis found Toni on Facebook and said, “If I ever get another chance, I’m making her mine.” They reconnected instantly—like no time had passed. A few laughs, meaningful moments, and a surprise proposal later—they walked into the courthouse and walked out married on January 4, 2025. Because when you know, you just don’t wait. Now, not only are they partners in life but also in creativity.
