Our love story

LoveToDun = Sweet Love

Our story began on Tolu’s 25th birthday! Jan 11, 2020 so that’s exactly 6 years (minus a day) from our final I Dos in Jan 10 2026. We had a lot of mutual friends on Instagram because we went to the same university prep school in 2013, so we were following each other but didn’t actually know each other… Anyway, fast forward to January 2020, Seun lives in Toronto and Tolu lives in Vancouver. Seun sends Tolu a nice but brief happy birthday message. Tolu was shocked 🤣, pleasantries were exchanged and it ended there. 9 MONTHS later, this time, Tolu pops up 🤔 He complimented my story post and we got to talking, one thing led to the next, and things just clicked. In the months that followed Seun visited Vancouver and Tolu came to Toronto. After a year or so of getting to know each other through Text & FaceTime, Seun made the decision to start her masters degree, she needed a change of scenery after being in Covid lockdown for over a year. Chance would have it, at that time Vancouvers lockdown was almost non-existent. It was a hard decision but also an easy one. Packed my things and took a big leap! Moving from East coast to West coast was NOT easy, everything about the adjustment seemed tough, but luckily, Tolu was there for me through it ALL. Friendly car rides cause I didn’t drive, showing me around campus cause I missed orientation Haha, apartment hunting, emotional support 🥴 and that was just the beginning lmao. “I have this picture engrained in my memory: after a month or so of struggling to find a student apartment and the emotional toll it had taken, I found the perfect one and on the last day of the month 😮‍💨 It was a huge deal and a turning point. The day I moved in, Tolu came over right after work and helped me put together my bed and the shower curtains. We laughed the more we struggled, we had just gotten through a really hard time, together. Things got exponentially better after that 🥺 Who knew that was the beginning of our forever. - Seun - Dunsin (Seun) & Tolulope #VanToVows #LoveToDun
