The Journey to "I Do"!

T.J. and Ericka first met through a mutual friend in 2015 and they slowly built a platonic friendship while T.J. was at Quincy playing football and Ericka was in New Orleans at Xavier. Over holiday breaks, they frequently met up with their mutual friends and kept in touch while at school. After graduation, their paths led them to grad school in opposite regions of the country. Ericka started medical school in Rochester, NY while T.J. started law school in Fort Lauderdale, Fl after moving to Florida with his family. Unbeknownst to Ericka, T.J. had developed strong feelings for her over the years. Ericka checked in with T.J. in December 2021 which prompted him to pursue a deeper relationship with her. In January 2022, their love story began with a simple text, "What you doing tomorrow night? I need to talk to you." On MLK weekend 2022, they had their first phone date where they talked for over 8 hours and they haven't stopped talking since. They had their first in-person date in April 2022 when T.J. asked her to be his girlfriend. Their families met and also fell in love. After becoming Esq. and Dr., Ericka moved to Atlanta (to be closer to T.J.) to train in Ob/Gyn. T.J. started his first job. On December 30th, 2023 T.J. proposed to Ericka in front of their families and her best friends during a game of taboo while in matching pajamas. Ericka said yes, of course, which has led us to today. Their love story is unconventional but beautifully crafted by God! They were made for each other and balance each other perfectly! They are so excited to start this next stage in their relationship, marriage. They cannot wait to celebrate with you!
