We met on the oh so famous dating app called "Bumble". Our first date was actually me going over to his place to hangout which looking back might of been sketchy but the good lord was watching over me! It wasnt until the next weekend we met up at a bar in Houston called Dogwood where we had our first kiss. Imagine 2 high school lovebirds kissing at the lockers... that was Jake and I. Without a care in the world locking lips. Things quickly took off from there and on my birthday, September 11th he confessed his love for me. It has been our version of a fairy tale ever since.
Being new parents of our precious baby girl, Harper Lee, we made an agreement to have date night once a month. December came along and I recently just went back to work so when Jake asked for us to have date night I was not on board. I tried bribing him so we could skip date night that month but he was not having it. The first sign I knew something was up is when his parents showed up to our apartment to watch Harper. His dad was dressed up which he usually is very casual. We got to my favorite restaurant "Mia Bella" and they sat us in this corner next to a big party. Jake got up to go to the bathroom and the hostess came over to me saying, "We are going to move y'all since this party could be noisy". I really didn't think anything of it. She took me to this private wine room with a curtain and I was thinking Jake isn't going to know that we moved so I will wait for him at the doorway. I saw him talking to a waitress and then I started to get curious. He came over and sat down and within a couple minutes of talking he started to say... "I love our family, I love us but more importantly I love you", I am not too sure what he said after that because then it hit me.... this guy is about to propose to me!!! He then got up, got down on one knee and proposed to me with the most beautiful ring and I blessed him with saying yes :). After dinner he surprised me with our family and close friends being there to celebrate with us. It was perfect, he did a great job!!
