Ashton and Hannah met at a birthday party for a mutual friend at Old Dominion University. It was in that moment that Hannah locked her eyes on Ashton, and the connection was undeniable. Ashton wrapped up his night at the party, but before he left, he made sure to message Hannah on Instagram, inviting her to one of his favorite wing spots in Norfolk, VA—Peck & Pour. Unfortunately, Hannah didn’t see Ashton’s message. But as fate would have it, the very next day they found themselves back in the same room where they had partied the night before. This time, Ashton didn’t miss his chance to invite Hannah in person, and she accepted!

9.16.2019 For their first date, Ashton took Hannah to the popular wing spot Peck & Pour. From the moment he picked her up in his red Jeep at the ODU dorms, Ashton couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the wings were. At the restaurant, he introduced Hannah to his favorite flavors—the PNP Signature and Garlic Parmesan wings. Not only did Hannah love the wings, but she also quickly realized that Ashton had great taste in food and shoes, which for her was a MAJOR green flag. The two hit it off so well that they couldn’t wait to plan their next time together, and from then on, their story began to unfold.

10.11.2019 Within just a few weeks of meeting, Ashton and Hannah had already created a deep bond. One Friday night, Ashton, being a “country church boy,” invited Hannah to a Young Adult Lock-In at Gethsemane Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Norfolk. Without hesitation, Hannah said yes. They walked into the lock-in expecting to blend into the crowd, but the night turned out to be a life-changing moment in their relationship. Hannah opened up about her desire to know God for herself, and the evening was filled with laughter, powerful praise and worship, heartfelt prayers, and tears of joy. Together, Ashton and Hannah prayed over their relationship, and that night became the foundation of something much greater. Now, five years later, Gethsemane Christian Fellowship is not only a place of worship but their spiritual home. They often reflect on how God’s hand was in their journey from the very beginning, bringing them closer together in both faith and love.

Ashton and Hannah’s relationship grew stronger with each passing year. They embraced life’s adventures, celebrated milestones, and built a future together. Early on, Ashton knew that Hannah was the one. One chilly day at her brother’s football game, Ashton approached her father nervously but with determination. In the freezing cold, he asked for his blessing to marry Hannah. Without hesitation, her father gave his approval, fully trusting Ashton’s love and devotion to his daughter. On May 20, 2023, surrounded by family and friends, Ashton got down on one knee and asked Hannah to be his wife. Overcome with joy, Hannah said, “YESSSS!”
