As most modern-day romances do, we met on a dating app, OK Cupid. We started talking in October of 2021, slowly getting to know each other one message at a time. Eventually as we chatted, our messages grew into our signature "novels" that we would send, that the Maid of Honor still teases her about to this day. We had our first date on November 6th, at a Painting with a Twist event in Grapevine. We painted a snowman each, with Tom's still being hung in the living room to this day. After painting we got Italian food and walked around town in Grapevine, turning a 2-hour date into a 6-hour date, or three dates as I joked at the end of it. We clearly hit it off and could both tell there was going to be a second, or fourth date. And the rest is history. We have been together for 3 years as of November 6th last year! We enjoy each other's company and love to go out and explore together. We often frequent Farmers Markets, Pop-Up shops, Main Streets, and malls. We love to explore unique coffee shops, or if we can't find any, just chill at Starbucks or make our own. We also love to create together, with our go-to being paintings. We have winter paintings, seasonal ones, and most recently a pair of dragons. We also made our coat rack and table centerpiece, and love creating projects together in classes. At home, we enjoy watching each other playing Video games and chilling with our pets, and occasionally watching random shows with the animals too. Fast forward to October 26, 2024. Tom has the ring and is ready to propose. Wanting to be slightly romantic, he asks to go to Grapevine, which Jamie responds with "isn't that 30 minutes away?" Tom does convince her to go in order to refill our olive oils at their store, and proceeds to forget the bottles as they drive to town, obviously just an excuse to head over there. We headed over to Grapevine, walk around as we did on our first date, pass by the Italian restaurant we ate at all those years ago. Tom wanted to find a nice outdoorsy spot, and walked to the local Botanical Gardens, which of course was closed for a private event. As we normally do, we were quick to find another location nearby, a local rose garden, which was much quieter and peaceful, and only a few minutes away. We walked to the center of it where Tom got on one knee and asked Jamie to marry him, which she said yes!!! We then walked around the area and celebrated amongst ourselves for an hour, before letting the world know of our happiness.
