a day to remember

Cade and Erica went to the same high school and had silly little crushes on each other but always remained just friends. The years following school they would wish each other happy birthdays or say “hello” if ever seeing one another in public but both went their separate ways in life. June of 2021, Cade and Erica both found themselves to be counselors at a Christian basketball camp. It was all truly God, as Erica decided the day camp started that she was going to be a counselor for that week. They then got matched up to be co-coaches which allowed them to start chatting more. One night Cade asked Erica to go for a walk which turned into them talking until 4am, catching up on all the things they had missed in each other’s lives since high school. That summer they relearned everything there was to know about the other before Cade asked Erica to be his girlfriend July 5th, 2021. The couple spent the next several years creating memories, growing together, and making many big decisions including the one on May 9th, 2024. Cade always told Erica that the moment he had the money and a ring, he would propose to her and he did just that. Hours after picking up the ring, Cade set up a beautiful, intimate proposal for Erica including rose pedals leading her to a 4 page letter talking about their lives and all the reasons he loves her along with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. At the end of the letter Cade asked Erica to step into the other room, “so I can ask you to be my wife”. There Cade was waiting on his knee (for the past 10 minutes because Erica is a slow reader) and asked her those beautiful words. The couple went on an “engagement moon” to Wilmington, NC and had the absolute best time reminiscing on all that had happened. Erica and Cade knew from the moment they reconnected at Bay Shore Camp, they’d be planning to spend the rest of their lives as one. God brought them together at just the right time and has continued to be the forefront of their relationship with one another.
