We are looking forward to celebrating with you! Please note, digital formal invitations have been sent via email. Please RSVP by 9/1.
Jeremy and Lauren both moved to Georgia in middle school. They both went to Awtrey Middle School (Gooo Vikings!) and ran around the same-ish crowd at North Cobb High School. He wrestled, she was a mat-maid. Fast forward to December 2019 - the band Incubus was playing a show at Coca Cola Roxy venue in Atlanta. 20 year anniversary of the album Make Yourself. Lauren met a mutual friend of theirs at Antico Pizza to grab a bite before the show. Jeremy walked up to their table, "Anyone sitting in these seats?". They both recognized him and shouted, "Jeremy Hay?!?!" It was basically a full on high school reunion the rest of the evening. Jeremy had recently moved back from Brooklyn and reached out to Lauren to see what she "did for fun" in the Atlanta area. They met up for trivia in Inman Park, laughed a lot, texted way too late afterwards, shared a whole bunch of music...until Jeremy asked if he could take Lauren "out". She didn't see that coming, because she's oblivious as they get. This was January 2020. Their first date was treacherous. Literally. Heavy thunderstorms - flooding in the streets of Atlanta was a given. Uber driver shows up with ONE headlight and crappy windshield wipers. But YOLO - they headed to Decatur for dinner at Iberian Pig. They are still not sure how they survived that drive, as the car hydroplaned no less than 6 times on that 5-mile trek. Lauren likely squeezed all the blood from Jeremy's right hand, channeling her anxiety right to his bones. Shortly after they get seated, there comes the sun (queue The Beatles). It was a perfectly adventurous evening from there. And they had no clue COVID was right around that little corner...just a couple months later. That first date has honestly been so symbolic to their lives. Together, they can get through anything, no matter the downpour. **Thank you for sharing in the celebration of our love and commitment to each other. Thank you for the support along the way to our forever.**
