Mikala: Every year, my elementary school friends and I reconnect to debrief life and adulting and have a fun get-to-together. Well the Summer of 2021, I deemed my "YES" Summer. I said yes to anything and everything and so my friends and I said let's go get tacos at Llyod's and see where the night takes us. That night led me into a random stranger's apartment celebrating the homecoming of another stranger, but there was one familiar face there: Nick. I had seen him before in high school, but mostly knew his older brother. We chatted, called an uber for everyone, and Nick didn't leave my side the whole night. His own friends had dispersed, but we had the best time together. As the night was unfortunately ended, we went to exchange phone numbers - but low and behold we already had each other's phone numbers saved! It was meant to be!

The summer of 2021 was filled with roller hockey, hanging with friends, and a bunch of golf. In July 2021, I was out on the links with a couple of my good buddies and as we were golfing, we were making plans for the night to go out in the city. I was pretty exhausted from golfing, and was a bit hesitant to go out, but nonetheless I decided to go out with them. The plan was to go to our high school buddy's apartment to have a couple of drinks with guys that I have not seen since graduation. When I arrived, I was greeted by all my high school classmates, and we reminisced on good times in school and caught up to the present. I noticed a group of girls in the apartment, and Mikala, who I remembered from high school as I was good friends with some guys from her school, and decided to go up and talk to her. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be with her. We spent that night dancing, laughing, and creating out first memory. Her beautiful green eyes lit up my world, and I knew I wanted to be with her. We exchanged numbers (again - we already had each other's contact) and our journey to forever began!
