Timing is everything. For better or for worse, the world works in mysterious ways. God, The Universe, whatever you want to call it, tends to make things line up exactly the way they are supposed to. Whether it's a chance encounter or a missed opportunity, it's pretty incredible to think about how timing has affected so many things in our lives. Brett, the forever bachelor, and Ellen, the lover of love, happened to meet one evening at Sarah Prather's house totally by chance. It was a last minute phone call to Ellen from her friend Coryn convincing Ellen to stop by Sarah's "for a minute." As the guests shifted around throughout the evening, Ellen and Brett ended up sitting next to one other, setting the wheels in motion. A conversation about "blue couch pillows making real estate photos 'pop' to catch a buyer's eye" somehow led to a longer conversation that continued for hours after the party. After a few weeks of playing hard to get, Brett finally made plans with Ellen. After a couple 1 on 1 dates (mostly to Brett's rooftop during Covid), Brett introduced Ellen to Chris & Sophie Newman during a Dodger's game at Riley's house. The boys promptly left for "just a minute" (about 90 minutes), to stop by a friend's house, leaving Sophie & Ellen to get to know each other. Ellen passed the test. Despite growing up less than 5 miles from each other and likely crossing paths many times over the years, the timing wasn't quite right for Ellen & Brett to meet. It took years of growing up, heart breaks, happiness, travels, and everything else life threw at them, for this love to start. The timing was...perfect. The couple could not be more excited to have all of their best friends and families together to celebrate their perfect timing! Wild Bill (Brett's dad) said it best the first time he met Ellen "Brett, you've really out kicked your coverage with this one."
