In summer 2021, Ben and Shannon met when they were both drafted to the same CLUBWAKA Kickball team (s/o to their captains). During their first game Ben and Shannon started chatting, and he convinced her to go to the bar with her, even though she "needed to go grocery shopping." Thankfully she has some sense and went to the bar where they got to chatting. Ben and Shannon continued to chat throughout the season, and eventually started officially dating that fall. The rest is history, and during a recent trip to Canada, Ben got down on one knee and asked Shannon to marry him. Through some tears she said... "YES!" Ben and Shannon live in Newport News with their cat Bagel, and "pig" Static, and cannot wait to start their next chapter as newlyweds.
