I remember in 2008 going to the Texans stadium to watch the China Spring Cougars state game and seeing this boy with bleach blonde hair and thinking, “Wow, he is incredibly cute!” I was sure he had no idea who I was so I don’t believe I ever met him. Throughout the next few years I spent many days over at Mark & Becky Bell’s house and remember meeting his mom, while she chatted with my mom and Becky, but I never met him. Fast-forward a few years and I decided to say hi to Taylor on Instagram. At the time he was living in Denver, we started up a conversation and by the end of the evening he had booked a flight to come back to Texas for a weekend to hang out. I had no idea that I had found my best friend. We talked on the phone day and night, texted, FaceTimed, the distance allowed us to ask each other a million questions and get to know each other. At thanksgiving he came down to see me and meet the kids, what was supposed to be a fun week of celebrating and activities turned into Taylor being our nurse because the 3 of us ended up with the flu. I remember thinking, well this will definitely send him running for the hills, but at the end of the week he simply looked at me and said, “Don’t apologize, taking care of you three felt like home to me.” I knew that this was not the bleach blonde high school boy I’d had a crush on but a man that was full of patience, grace and kindness. My mom always told me that happiness is being married to your best friend, as I have grown and become an adult I have realized the importance of those words. Marriage is a lot of teamwork, it is supporting one another, dreaming together, requiring the best of each other and that is what Taylor has been for me. His unconditional love and patience is a gift that I don’t take for granted. I cannot wait to spend the next 60 years adventuring with him and our beautiful kids! I hope you will be able to be there by our side as we vow to honor and love each other for the rest of our lives. Thank you for your encouragement and support and I hope to see you in November! Blessings, Kaley
