At the time, Alan was staying in Chicago with his aunt while Taylor was in Holland. Taylor's colleague who also happens to be a family member of Alan introduced them via Instagram. They chatted for a month, and then Alan came to Holland where he met Taylor.

Alan took Taylor to a nice restaurant in downtown Holland. They had dinner together, and then it was time for dessert! Taylor didn't want any but Alan was insistent on getting some and became anxious when the waitress wasn't bringing it out. Eventually she came out with a piece of chocolate cake and on the plate it said "Will you marry me?" Alan got down and one knee and Taylor said yes! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
