Western or Indian Semi-Formal
A Sangeet is a fun pre-wedding welcome party in Indian culture with lots of music and dancing. Family and friends perform dances, give speeches, and celebrate together. It’s a joyful night full of energy and excitement before the wedding! Come hungry and thirsty—we’ve got dinner and an open bar waiting for you!
4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Indian Formal or Western Formal
Although traditionally held in the morning, we have chosen to host the Indian ceremony in the evening to take advantage of the cooler late afternoon temperatures. The event begins with most guests joining the Baraat, a celebratory procession during which guests escort Raj to the ceremony. After the Indian ceremony, a full dinner will be served—please note that since this is a religious event, no alcohol will be provided at this event.

Black-Tie encouraged: Floor-length gowns or formal dresses, Tuxedos or dark suits
The evening kicks off with our western ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour. Then, get ready to dance the night away at our reception with great music, food, and celebration!
Flight
The airport is just a 10–15 minute drive from Cartagena’s historic Walled City. There are direct flights from New York City (JFK) via JetBlue and Avianca Airlines. Please keep in mind that the Cartagena airport is small and customs and immigration can take an hour or more upon landing. Although there is a bathroom in the immigration hall, it can be difficult to reach depending on how many flights are landing at the same time. If you have any health related concerns, we recommend requesting a wheelchair from the airline so that a member of the team can help you through immigration. Typically, flights that arrive and leave in the morning face lighter wait times.

This wedding will blend the cultural heritage of both Raj and Tati. Expect a diverse range of flavors, music, and clothing. Raj’s Hindu roots will be honored with rituals during the Hindu ceremony, symbolizing a marriage’s sacred bond and commitment. Meanwhile, Tati’s Spanish and Colombian heritage will infuse the events of the weekend. Spending time learning and embracing each other’s cultures has been a beloved part of our relationship. This celebration feels all the more meaningful with our loved ones coming together to unite our two worlds.
We’ve loved getting to know your little ones over the years, however we’ve decided to make our celebration an adult-only celebration with the exception of the children in our immediate families. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!
We truly appreciate your generosity and presence at our wedding. Instead of a traditional registry, we kindly welcome monetary gifts. Above all, your love and support mean the world to us, and we are grateful for any contribution. As the date approaches, we will add an online fund to our website that you can contribute to if you wish.
