We met at church, and through playing ultimate frisbee with the young adults group at our church. One day we went to Slim Chickens as a big group to get some food. After hanging out for a while, everyone began packing up to head home. Tanner stopped me in the parking lot to ask me for my number. We text back and forth for a little, until he asked me to meet him for coffee one day. During coffee, Tanner, being the straightforward person he is, said something like, "don't friend-zone me." He was trying to protect his heart, but I didn't take it that way so about a week later I called him and told him that I wasn’t interested in pursuing anything. He still talked to me off and on, until I was ready to give him a chance. After ultimate one day he sought me out, He and I talked for a couple hours after. I decided to give him a chance. Going on couple of dates after that, he expressed an desire to date me. With a statement like, "Would you be okay if I ask you dad if it's okay if we date?" I learned from Tanner that he's not scared of a challenge, and admired that he wasn’t afraid to confront his family. From this moment forward he has pursued me in a respectful and direct way. Yes, he asked my Dad. Here we are, ready to get married. God works in ways we can't explain, but if you trust Him he will make dreams come true.
