Steven and I first met in our small group at First Baptist Church in Weston when we were just 18 and 21 years old. Little did we know, we had been attending the same church and many of the same camps for most of our lives without ever crossing paths. Our friendship blossomed naturally as our friend groups began spending more time together. We discovered shared interests, especially a love for music and movies, which gave us countless reasons to connect and grow closer. Over time, I developed a quiet crush on Steven, which, a few years later, was sweetly reciprocated. While serving together on a mission trip to Cuba, Steven realized his own feelings for me and asked me out soon after his 23rd birthday. Now, six years later, we’ve created countless memories and shared adventures we’ll cherish forever. We’ve grown together through different career paths, joyful milestones, and even difficult seasons in our personal lives. Walking through it all side by side, with Christ at the center, has only strengthened our bond. We’ve chosen to take the next step of faith and obedience as we walk into marriage together. We are overjoyed to celebrate this new chapter and can’t wait to share our special day with all the people we love. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Mark 10:9
