Same Wedding Different Venue

Our first date was on Tennyson Street in Denver -- a fun and lively street with a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. We spent the evening strolling our way from spot to spot, sipping, sampling, and getting to know each other. We talked about our favorite bands and places we would like to visit across the country and around the globe. We both discovered that we loved Ben Harper’s music, and Kevin just happened to have tickets to his concert the following weekend. We had an amazing time at the concert on our second date -- we just clicked from the start. Lots of concerts, boat rides and trips together followed; and a few short months later Kevin said, “I think we are in love.” I responded with “Welcome to the party, Home-slice” and that is pretty much when we thought, okay, this could really be something…”

Most girls are lucky enough to get one romantic proposal; well, I was lucky enough to get two. The first proposal was in La Jolla, CA. Kevin and I had just finished having brunch with my brother Chet, sister-in-law Audra and sweet niece, Rosalyn. Audra and I decided to do a bit of window shopping and happened to see a gorgeous ring, which I told Audra would be what I'd love to have when the time was right. A few hours later Kevin and I were having a drink and enjoying the beautiful view when he said, “Marry me?” I replied in shock, “Are you serious? What are you talking about? Are you joking?” With every question I asked, his response was “Marry Me, I love you, Marry Me.” To which I said “YES, of course!” We then returned to the jewelry boutique and he promptly bought the ring right then and there. The second proposal happened after Pops had given his blessing and the ring finally arrived in Denver. Kevin took me to the restaurant where we had our first date. As we were walking up to the restaurant, I turned around and he was down on one knee, saying such lovely things (I know, so gross and cheesy) that I started to cry. He asked, I shouted “YES!”, and now here we are on this crazy journey to start the next chapter of our lives. We are so excited to celebrate with you!
