In the 7th grade, John David and I shared a homeroom teacher. This essentially means that we had to endure 5/7 classes a day together. You see, he wasn't an easy individual to deal with, especially in the 7th grade. He frequently got called on by teachers. "JD stop talking." "JD stop moving." "JD focus and do your work." "JD leave Tamara alone before she hurts you." Those were all sentences that weren't exactly out of the ordinary. In fact, they were probably repeated around 50 times a day.. On a good day. After a while, I noticed that although our teachers would re-arrange our seating charts every couple of weeks, I would always be stuck next to John David, or at least across from him. When Christmas break rolled around, and Melissa Pierce assigned us our new seating charts, I finally had enough. I went up to her and said "Mrs. Pierce, why do I always get stuck dealing with John David? I am not his mother!." John David, being himself and following me everywhere, stood beside me with his hands on his hips. "Hey! You know you love me!" he exclaimed. Melissa looked at me and said ," Tamara you're the only one who can keep him in line. You all will be married one day. You just watch." Instantly, I fake gagged, while John David smiled from ear to ear. "So can I kiss my bride?" he asked excitedly. I remember saying, "Not in a million years!"
