Our Story

We met the modern way - online - on May 20th, and finally face-to-face on June 6th. From the start, we spent hours on FaceTime each day, sharing life, laughter, and the growing realization that something truly special was unfolding. When Ben made the 6.5-hour drive from Canada to Montana to meet Kaitlin in person, she had grand plans: a home-cooked dinner of steak from the butcher, glazed Brussels sprouts with bacon, and fresh bread. But as it turns out, her cooking skills are more “survival mode” than gourmet... especially when compared to Ben’s chef-level expertise. So after a long drive and a half day of work, he ended up cooking for her. (And it was delicious.) That first weekend together was full of adventure, laughter, and a little rain. They shared huckleberry margaritas at Kaitlin’s favorite local restaurant, where she told Ben she loved him for the first time. Later, they borrowed a friend’s truck to drive into the mountains for a DIY “drive-in” movie night on an iPad under the stars. The only problem? No stars. Just clouds, and then rain. Still, it was perfect in its own way. From snow-covered hikes (yes, even in June!) to paddleboarding on the lake, those first few days were packed with the kind of memories you never forget. And they were just the beginning. After the wedding, Kaitlin will be moving to Alberta, Canada to join Ben near the Canadian Armed Forces base where he’s currently posted. It’s the next big step in a journey that started with a swipe, grew through countless hours of conversation, and quickly became something worth building a life around.

The Couple

Kaitlin Blauvelt

Bride

Kaitlin grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota, with her two brothers and her parents, but for the past four years she’s called Belgrade, Montana home. She comes as a package deal with her cat, Murphy, and has been working at a Christian nonprofit, Love in the Name of Christ (Love INC). After the wedding, she’ll be leaving that role and making the move to Alberta, Canada, where she hopes to find a similar opportunity to serve and connect with her new community. Kaitlin loves nature, especially when water is involved. Whether it’s paddleboarding on a lake, swimming in a river, or simply lounging in the sand, she’s happiest near the water. She also loves hiking and camping in random spots (bonus points if there's wildlife nearby), exploring new places on road trips, and curling up with a good book (or an audiobook), when the weather turns cold. She’s very excited to marry Ben, a man she admires for his kindness, intelligence, strength, and authenticity. He’s someone who knows who he is and where he’s going, and Kaitlin can’t wait to be right beside him as they step into this next chapter together.

Ben Stanley

Groom

William Benjamin Stanley ("Ben" to his friends) grew up all across Canada, thanks to his parents’ work as pastors with the Salvation Army. That nomadic childhood gave him a deep sense of adaptability, purpose, and quiet strength, all of which serve him well in his current role in the Canadian Armed Forces. He’s currently stationed at Suffield, and is pursuing post-secondary education in the near future. He and Kaitlin met at just the right time. two people who had done the work of figuring out who they were and what they needed. Their relationship is built on faith, laughter, and deep alignment, a blessing they both recognize and cherish. Kaitlin and Ben look forward to building a life together marked by love, purpose, and intentionality. Kaitlin will be moving to Suffield following the ceremony and they couple will be honeymooning in the Caribbean and Thailand throughout the fall and winter months.
