It all started at Brookmill, our elementary school. I was just six years old when Suman first caught my eye, and from that moment, I had a crush! I wrote about him in my diary and secretly stole his agenda. In grade 7, we shared a special moment—our very first dance together. Suman wasn’t quite ready for our love story to begin. So, I let go—or at least, I tried. We were around each other a lot, but we just stayed acquaintances. Then came the summer of grade 9. A friend worked some magic, and before I knew it, Suman was on the phone with me. His words were unforgettable: "I only date to get married." Thirteen years later, he kept his word. He proposed, and it was the easiest yes ever. Now, we can't wait to celebrate the next chapter of our love story—with all of you by our side.
Our journey together started in Grade 1 at Brookmill, where I first noticed her as this cute little girl (with a mustache lol). Years later, in middle school, I nervously asked her to a school dance while we were on the swings and she said yes! High school brought us closer through many interactions but namely late-night video chats with a bunch of friends (tinychat-iykyk), where we were often the last ones talking. A mutual friend of ours revealed she had feelings for me, and despite my strict upbringing, I decided it was worth the risk and asked her out with a clear intention; I date to get married. In hindsight, this was crazy to say as a 15 year old boy with no dating experience. As I went away for school for five years and began a job that required extensive travel for another three years, maintaining our relationship wasn't easy. No matter the miles between us, we maintained an unbreakable bond. Proposing to her was a monumental moment. Though I had wanted to marry her for years, I knew she deserved something special and it took time to prepare. I surprised her at our high school, ring in hand, asking her to spend the rest of her life with me. Now, as we embark on our next chapter, I am excited to take on whatever life brings, knowing we’ll face it together as husband and wife.
