We met at a small Pennsylvania state school, Bloomsburg University, both a little homesick and definitely not expecting to find another New Jerseyan in the crowd. But fate had other plans! We ended up in the same multimedia class, where Steven sat right next to Alex —totally "by chance". Alex showed up at one of Steven's hockey games and eventually built up the courage to add him on SnapChat that same night. Covid hit in March and all classes were moved online, we stayed in touch the rest of the school year & throughout summer where we discovered we both had beach houses 20 minutes from each other! When we returned to Bloom in August, we rekindled and the rest is history!

All week long we were getting the beach house ready for the big party. We were both putting in so much work to get the house perfect for our family & friends to celebrate Steven's 27th birthday... at least that is what Alex thought. After the last table was set, Steven had a bright idea to leave the house and get drinks with two of our friends who said they couldn't make the party due to another obligation. Alex was VERY reluctant, "why would I leave the house when I have 40+ people showing up for your birthday party?" Somehow, Steven got her out of the house, no questions asked. We got to the bar and everything was normal, there was good music, drinks, & company. We finally said our goodbyes and headed back to the house, except we took a detour. Steven popped the question at sunset on our favorite pier in Manasquan. We pulled into the driveway of the house to find all of our family and closest friends waiting to celebrate us. It was truly the most perfect proposal!
