Sweet Steven and I met at our young adult's Bible study in 2019. Before attending our small group, I was praying to find a group of friends who were pursuing Christ. I also remember thinking, "I wonder if I will meet my future husband here?" After sitting down at our small group table, I saw Steven walk right to me. I will never forget the first time seeing his big green eyes, flowy light brown hair, and the sweetest grin on his face as introduced himself to me. He was sweet, charming, and the way he talked about his relationship with Jesus swept me off my feet. He was everything I wanted in a man and more. Two months later, Steven told our small group the "BIG NEWS." He was joining the Air Force! My heart sank as we were just becoming great friends. Right after telling us, Steven asked me out on our first date! Our first date was so romantic. We both knew that night we weren't dating to date but dating with the intention of marriage. From many more dates on and saying goodbye to Steven as he left for bootcamp, I received love letters from him once a week for the next two months. When the time came, I flew to Texas to see Steven graduate. During the two months apart, we both knew we never wanted to be apart and wanted to be together forever.
It was only a short month into dating that we knew God brought us together for a reason. Once finishing Tech School, Steven was given orders to move to Ellsworth Air Force base. A few months later, Steven flew home and proposed on Sunday, October 11, 2020, in the gorgeous mountains of Idaho. Overlooking the Sawtooth Mountain Ridge. Since then, we've been counting down the days until we say, "I DO!"
