Charles Dickens once wrote, "We live in the best of times, we live in the worst of times." We met online, - the best of times because in this time of the Pandemic 19, you won't catch the virus online. The worst of times because, online dating is an artificial format. For us, OkCupid, helped us meet and connect with each other. In life, timing is everything. When the heart has sufficiently healed, one is able to become available to love again. Such is the case for us. We are both 63 years of age and see that love can be had again.. We share experiences. For example, a marriage and a divorce. We both grew up in the 60's and 70's. It's cool for us to dance to "A Hard Days Night". We have differences which serve us well. Daisy was born and raised in a fairly small Brazilian city, Sao Vicente. Steve was born and raised in a mid-size metropolis, Denver Colorado. Steve comes from a very large family, with 9 living siblings. Daisy is a middle child, with an older brother and a younger sister. Steve's language and culture are American- apple pie, 4th of July fireworks and Rock & Roll music. Daisy's is Brazilian: the beaches of Copacabana & Ipanema, Feijao & Seafood & Samba music. Americans speak English, Brazilians Portuguese. Brazilians have a very healthy attitude about affection and sexuality. Walking on street holding your partner's hand is considered normal, not so much in America. Love is about seeing the person you are with and wanting to go to bed and wake up with that person. For Steve, it means being humble enough to learn from Daisy. For Daisy, it means opening up to the "child within." Every night at dinner, we make a toast to each other and proclaim in Portuguese, "Te Amo" ( I love you.) We have become best friends, lovers and partners. We have made a bet with each other, " 37 more", to deeply desire and sincerely want to be with each until we reach the age of 100.
