We were attending a wedding as completely separate guests, merely teenagers at the time. We were pulled together for a quick photo, and after a sharing a passing glance, we went our separate ways! Over the next few days, after the dreamy destination wedding and returning back to everyday life, Stephen messaged Madison on Facebook (yes, seriously!) to chat and examine the spark. Despite being only acquaintances, neither of us could shake the feeling that we had somehow known each other forever. Friends and family cautioned us over a long distance relationship, especially as we were so young, but we knew even then that what we had was worth it.

The day we got engaged was a whirlwind! We went to see 'The Sound of Music' at the Carolyn Blount Theatre in Montgomery, Alabama. After a day of amazing music, we ran to grab a quick bite at our favorite local Chinese place. Stephen planned to ask me shortly after dinner, but it started to rain! We drove home and were headed inside when Stephen decided; now or never! He knelt in the pouring rain, and asked me after five years, to attend a wedding with him one more time- this time, as his bride. I couldn't say yes fast enough!
