The ceremony and reception will take place in Gardone Riviera, a tiny, incredibly scenic village right on the western shore of Lake Garda. The closest larger town is Salò (7–10 minutes by car), where you’ll also find more restaurants and shops. Both towns have beautiful hotels and villas — search “Gardone Riviera” or “Salò, Lake Garda” and you’ll see plenty of options.
We don’t have an official room block (so no minimum stays or extra fees!). To make it easier, we put together a short, personally vetted list of lovely hotels very close to the venue — you’ll find them in the Travel section of this website. Feel free to book whichever one feels perfect for you.
The most convenient airport for Gardone Riviera is Verona Valerio Catullo Airport (VRN) – only 30–45 minutes by car. Many guests from the US fly directly into Verona or connect easily. For more flight options from Honduras, Guatemala, or the US, Milan Bergamo (BGY, ~1–1.5 hours) and Milan Malpensa (MXP, ~1.5–2 hours) are great alternatives. Book early — October is beautiful (and popular!) on Lake Garda.
- From Verona (VRN): 30–45 min drive | taxi or rental car very easy | direct bus (line 164) ≈ 1 hour - From Bergamo (BGY): 1–1.5 hours drive | bus + train or private transfer - From Milan Malpensa (MXP): 1.5–2 hours drive | train + bus/ferry or private transfer
Early October on Lake Garda is lovely: daytime highs 17–20 °C (63–68 °F), evenings 8–12 °C (46–54 °F). Mostly sunny days with golden light, but it gets breezy and chilly by the lake after sunset — a light jacket or shawl is a must.
Dress code: Formal Attire — Italian Garden Elegance The entire celebration is an outdoor garden party right by the lakeside, so once the sun sets the temperature drops and the lake breeze can feel quite cool. Ladies: please bring a shawl, pashmina, or elegant wrap for the evening. Gentlemen: a light overcoat or extra layer is a great idea.
With love, we’ve decided to make this an adults-only celebration. The ceremony and reception are held directly lakeside with open water and no safety railings, and we won’t have childcare available. We completely understand if this affects your plans and can’t wait to celebrate with the little ones another time!
Absolutely — Lake Garda is one of Italy’s most beautiful destinations! A few must-sees (all within 15–45 minutes): - Verona (35 min) — Romeo & Juliet’s city and stunning Roman arena - Sirmione (30 min) — fairy-tale castle and thermal spas - Desenzano del Garda (20 min) — lively port and great restaurants - Salò (10 min) — elegant promenade and Saturday market - Limone sul Garda & Malcesine — reachable by scenic ferry Perfect for turning the wedding into a little Italian holiday. We’ll share our personal favourites after you RSVP!
