The scenic drive to Vail, Colorado from Denver International Airport (DEN) is approximately two hours. You can access Vail via a rental car, taxi or ride share, and shuttle.

If you'd prefer to sit back and relax as you make your way to the mountains, we will be running a few complimentary shuttles from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Vail. The shuttle to Vail will depart on Friday, September 12th at 1PM MT from West Terminal, Level 5, Door 504, Island 1 to arrive in Vail by 4PM MT. The return shuttle will leave Vail at 10AM MT from the Vail Transportation Center on Sunday, September 14th to arrive at DEN by 2 PM MT. Please plan your flight arrival times accordingly.

There are many short-term rentals available in Vail, Colorado (including East Vail, West Vail, and Central Vail. We recommend booking through Airbnb or VRBO. Please note, if you stay outside of Central Vail, you will need your own transportation or must use Vail's shuttle busses to make your way to the wedding events.
Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the highest-elevation botanical garden in the world, is tucked conveniently near Vail Village. With a curated collection of plants — from succulents to blooms perfect for pollinators — the gardens are the perfect opportunity to learn more about alpine vegetation. With accessible paths and parking, this attraction is easy to explore and welcoming to everyone.
If you don't need to rush out of town the Sunday after the wedding, Vail holds a farmers market on Meadow drive in center Vail every Sunday. The market has 155 vendor tents displaying Colorado artisan items and food. Free parking for the Market is at the Vail Village Parking.

If you are staying outside of central Vail, you may choose to rent a car for easy access and convenience. There is free garage parking in Center Village of Vail, where you can park for welcome drinks and the day of the ceremony. Please note: there is a fee to park overnight. If you choose not to rent a car, we will be providing a shuttle from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Vail on Friday, September 12th, departing around 1PM MT. A return shuttle will also depart from Vail to the DEN airport on Sunday morning, September 14th.
In town, a shuttle bus system connects East Vail, Central Vail, and West Vail. Shuttles run between 6AM-12AM: https://www.vail.gov/government/departments/transportation-services/bus-information/bus-schedules-summer Should you need to get somewhere outside of these hours, there are also limited ride share options available (Uber, Lyft).
In September, Vail, Colorado's average high temperatures are around 70° F, while the average lows are between 31° and 39° F. Bring layers, as temps can be warm during the day, with temps dropping lower in the evening.
Vail Mountain sits at a base elevation of 8,120 ft. The wedding venue sits at an elevation just over 10,000 ft. If you will be coming in from lower elevation, you will likely feel the altitude. It's recommended to arrive 24 hours in advance to help your body acclimate. Please be aware of physical exertion and alcohol consumption. Every two drinks at sea level equals one at altitude.
The dress code for the wedding weekend is formal. Please wear suits, gowns, and/or cocktail dresses.
If you won't be opting for a rental car and are coming in prior to Friday and will miss the scheduled shuttle from DEN to Vail, or if you will be departing Vail later than Sunday morning, you will need to book your own shuttle with the Epic Mountain Express: https://www.epicmountainexpress.com/reservations. You may also choose to book your transportation with a taxi or ride app.
