Stacey sat next to Kyle on the first day of a physiology class at Diablo Valley College in August of 2017. After arriving late, their professor encouraged everyone to introduce themselves to their neighbor while he set up his teaching materials. Kyle and Stacey, two people who would not normally start a conversation with a stranger, struck up a conversation about BART. The rest was history!
The couple went on their first date October 13, 2017. Kyle thought they had planned for the 14th. Stacey thought it was the 13th. When Stacey arrived at Tiki Tom's, she called Kyle to see if he was close. He immediately dropped what he was doing (watching a basketball game at his parents' house) and rushed to meet her. After one drink, the couple opted to leave the noisy bar area. They then spent hours strolling the streets of downtown Walnut Creek under the stars and talking.
About 10 months into their relationship, Stacey moved to San Diego to attend nursing school. Kyle traveled down with Stacey to help her move into her very questionable, new apartment. To escape the stress and chaos of moving, one night, Stacey took Kyle to see her favorite spot atop Mount Soledad. Stacey had long loved this spot for its scenic views of San Diego and the ocean. It was atop this mountain that the couple first confessed their love to each other.

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks.
Some call it a rehearsal, we prefer to think of it as a pre-party. In order to welcome everyone to San Diego, give guests a chance to get to know each other, and establish the vibe for the wedding day, the bride and groom are happy to host all guests for a fun and intimate dinner out. Food and beverages will be provided. This event is open to minors, but not our beloved four-legged friends.
4:00 pm
Semi-Formal Attire with Optional Flair: Please dress nicely in a suit, dress, formal jumpsuit, or pantsuit.
Our wedding will be vibrant and whimsical. While you are choosing your attire, please feel free to include small bohemian, rock n' roll, or nautical touches that will add to the exuberance of the day. Color is encouraged. More than anything, we want you to feel comfortable in what you wear. Words from the Bride: "People can wear a suit or nice dress to any wedding. They come to our Rock N' Roll Hippie-Dippie Wedding by the Sea for the atmosphere and the attitude. That's what the flair is about. It's about fun. Look, we want you to express yourself, okay? Now if you feel that formal attire is enough, then that's great! But some people choose to wear more and we encourage that." - Adapted from Office Space Words from the Groom: "Oh yeah, this spot will be hot. I'll love the ambiance and the decor. I spend a lot of time thinking about which I'll love more: the ambiance or the decor." -Adapted from Marshawn Lynch at Applebee's
7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Anything Goes Attire: The newlyweds expect to want to change out of their formal attire into something comfy (i.e. sweats or jeans and tees). If it is easier or you prefer to stay fancy, that is totally fine by us!
The groom, being a homebody, and the bride, likely to be exhausted, would like to spend their first night as a married couple without the pressure of a large to-do. Therefore, in the bohemian spirit, we have decided to do away with tradition. You can think of this reception more akin to when a kids' sports team goes out to get pizza after winning the big game! We have reserved the patio area of a nearby bar for those wishing to celebrate with the newlyweds. This event welcomes both minors and furry friends. Food options will include: chicken wings, salads, pizzas, and dessert. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. Things to keep in mind while choosing your attire: -This event will be professionally photographed. -The patio has coverings and heaters, but is not immune to the will of Mother Nature.
House Or Rental
For the week leading up to the wedding, we will be staying in a pet-friendly Airbnb in Pacific Beach.
Hotel
On October 12th, we will move to the Catamaran Resort Hotel. This is directly in the middle of the locations of the wedding ceremony and the rehearsal restaurant. Each venue is about a 10–15-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel is right on Mission Bay with lovely tropical landscaping. You can choose from garden view, partial ocean view, bay view, and regular resort rooms. On-site, they have a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, pool, whirlpool, exotic bird show, arcade, spa, fitness center, bonfire pits and beach rentals. Word to the Wise: If you would like to book your stay here, we recommend doing it directly from the hotel's website. If you don't mind some promotional emails, you can choose the "member's only rate" option. This requires you to make a free account on the hotel's website. Once you have an account, you can book your room at a 10%+ discount and have free cancellation up to 72 hours in advance. Word of warning: The bride has been known, on more than one occasion, to book a hotel that looks beautiful on the website but is not quite as nice in person. We did extensive research and hope this will not be the case but cannot make any guarantees.
Please RSVP by September 13th so that the bride and groom have time to tie up final details.
Guests may arrive any time after 3pm. Please be seated and ready to commence by 4pm.
For the rehearsal/pre-party: There is street parking available all around the restaurant. It is not a very busy area of town. On a Sunday evening, you should be able to find a spot. For the ceremony: You can drive all the way up to the wedding site at the mountain's summit near the Veteran's memorial. (If you see a giant white cross, you are in the right place.) There are a handful of spots at the very top where the wedding will be held. There is also a parking lot with ~30 spots that you will pass on your left as you drive up to the summit. This is about a 3-5 minute walk from the wedding site. However, it is a public park and parking is limited. We recommend you carpool if possible and give yourself plenty of time to find a space. For the reception: The venue has a private lot with 2 spaces. (1 of which is handicap accessible). Plan on street parking.
Barkley loves his cousins Archie, Basil, Coco, and Wilbur! These members of the family are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception, but not the rehearsal. We know traveling with pets can be a challenge. Their attendance is completely optional. If you choose to bring a four-legged loved one, we ask that you take responsibility for taking care of and controlling them during the ceremony. We highly encourage formal attire for any pup in attendance.
Yes. The bride and groom are planning to have options for guests with shellfish and nut allergies, gluten intolerance, and vegetarian diets. If your request has not already been covered, please let the bride or groom know at your earliest convenience. Please understand we will have less ability to adjust the menus as the event draws near.
Yes, but we choose to think of it as a good kind of crazy. If you received this invitation, you are one of our most important people and quite frankly stuck with us. It's best to embrace it.
Please enter the first and last name of one member of your party below.
If you're responding for you and a guest (or your family), you'll be able to RSVP for your entire group on the next page.
This is La Jolla Cove - a world famous beach right near the wedding venue.
This is the Castro of San Diego and a wonderful place to find good brunch!
