The wedding storyThe wedding story
On their wedding day, Doug and Srishty will have known each other for six years, seven months, and six days. The two strangers first met on a cold winter night in front of the majestic red sandstone walls of the Bara Darwaza (Big Gate) of Purana Kila (Old Fort), New Delhi. Since then, they have lived apart in three different countries and time zones, with small snatches of shared time in Thailand, Hong Kong, Turkey, India, and the US. They traveled to meet and met to travel, and peeled small layers of history and culture together while also slowly learning about each other. Love grew through these years of shared separation and adventures together, and eventually, they found a home in each other. It felt comfortable and right, a place of refuge irrespective of where they were. While they missed many sublime sunsets and sunrises, the change of autumn into fall, the snow and rain, the birthdays and festivals, they have many 'firsts' to look forward to. They got engaged on the summer evening of July 11, 2024, when Doug proposed with his mother's ring. With their wedding approaching, they only wish to share a new start of love, happiness, and togetherness with you.
