How We Met
For Sophie, it was a typical Trivia Tuesday at the Chelsea Bell, a local spot near her Chelsea apartment, in the summer of 2017. For Marvin, this was not so typical. Actually it was his first time at the Chelsea Bell, and he had brought his interns out for an end of summer celebration, only to find his team was over the 6-person limit. A few tables over, Sophie was settling in with her friend Rachel, they were a 2-player team happy to welcome a guest from the nearby table. Marvin spotted the spare seat, wandered over, and sat down. The conversation flowed easily, the kind that makes you lose track of time and forget you’re supposed to be answering trivia questions. By the time the night wound down, neither of us was ready to say goodbye. Before parting ways, Marvin kissed Sophie on the cheek and asked for her number, and her dogs Instagram. She gave him both. A few weeks later, they met up again. Then again. And then, it was official.
